Children of Promise 5 - Evg. A. D. M. Heartwill

Galatians 3:21-22  Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
God bless you for reading and commenting on this series. Your encouraging words are very much appreciated.
We'll in this piece consider righteousness as being a promise unto (us) the children of God for which our faith in Christ Jesus and His finished work has wrought for us.
In Genesis 3:1-21,it'll be noticed that when Adam and Eve had sinned against God, God meted out the punishment for their sin but before He let them out of the garden of Eden, we see him in verse 21; ....
"...And the Lord made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them."
A garment of skin in those days came from the…

Children of Promise 4 - Evg. A. D. M. Heartwill

I believe you're following on this series of teachings that we have been going through on 'Children of Promise

Please feel free to share your comments, questions and don't forget to share with friends and family.

Galatians 3:7,9 Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham...So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

Now, how did we become children of promise? The word used as 'Understand' comes from the Greek root word, 'ginosko' which means:  To have a definite knowledge, meaning having a resolve or to have an indisputable truth.
This means that, being children of promise are a nonnegotiable truth of God's word. It's a sure word of God that has no variability. Therefore, we read that, those who believe are children of Abraham.
The vrs. 9 stresses on this truth when its said those who have faith or rely on God, lean on Him and adhere to His word are blessed with Abraham, the man of faith. Thi…

Children of Promise 3 - Evg A. D. M. Heartwill

John 1:12  Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
In our previous studies we've been looking at what our faith in Christ has wrought for us. We continued by considering why we are children of promise by looking at our status as children of God.
The Apostle John spoke in our anchor scripture to us that we have received the right of being named (not just on earth but through all the ages) as children of God if we express of our faith in Christ Jesus.
In 1 John 3:1-2 [Click to view verse], we see that in God's love towards us, He has longed that we should be His children. We're the delight of God as in all creation, we're the only people formed in His very image,Genesis 1:27 [Click to view verse].
God's heart was broken when we couldn't keep our eyes on that identity (His sons/children) by which we were separated from all other creation but chose to become slaves of sin and the devil. Per that, no…

Children of Promise 2 - Evg. A. D. M. Heartwill

Romans 9:11  Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand.
Many people even after having faith in Christ premise themselves on their faults and past to say they can't qualify for the blessings of the Lord. However, that isn't the case when it comes to having faith in Christ.
One truth to be shared with us is, God before the foundation of this world chose us to be to Himself His beloveds and that irrespective of our good or bad deeds. This He purposed and promised Himself He'll do and in the manifestation of Christ to humanity has done for us all who have received him as our Lord and personal saviour.
Now, what's left for us is to subscribe to what Christ has done to qualify us for the promises of the Father. In our choosing Jesus, God looks not on our failings but on the finished work of Christ and considers us as children of the promise.
What then does he do with our weaknesses? He comes to us with …

Children of Promise 1 - Evg. A. D. M. Heartwill

Romans 9:1,8-9 I am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit...This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring. For this is what the promise said: “About this time next year I will return, and Sarah shall have a son.”
Vrs. 8— In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.
For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son
This is a trustworthy saying of the Apostle Paul to us believers. We're called believers because we have faith in Christ Jesus and His finished work on the Cross. By reason of our faith and the outward expression of this faith in holding Christ as our Lord and Savior, we've become Children of God.
Therefore, as children born unto God by faith, it's important fo…
